Description

Balsamic Baked Chicken Breast brings tender, juicy flavor right to your dinner table with minimal effort. Marinating the chicken in a zesty balsamic mixture guarantees a delicious meal your family will devour.

Ingredients

Scale

Proteins:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Liquid Ingredients:

  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Seasonings and Herbs:

  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Combine ½ cup balsamic vinegar, ¼ cup olive oil, 2 tablespoons honey, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon dried thyme, salt, and pepper in a medium mixing bowl. Whisk until the marinade is thoroughly blended.
  3. Add 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts to the marinade. Rotate each piece to ensure complete coverage. Allow the chicken to absorb flavors for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Transfer the marinated chicken breasts to the prepared baking dish. Pour the remaining marinade evenly over the top of the chicken.
  5. Slide the baking dish into the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven. Let the meat rest for 3-5 minutes to redistribute the juices.
  7. Optional: Scatter fresh basil leaves over the chicken before serving. Plate the balsamic chicken while it’s warm.

Notes

  • Check the chicken’s thickness to ensure even cooking and prevent dry edges.
  • Let the chicken marinate longer for deeper flavor penetration, up to 8 hours in the refrigerator.
  • For a gluten-free version, confirm all marinade ingredients are certified gluten-free.
  • Swap honey with maple syrup for a vegan alternative or to adjust sweetness levels.
