Description

Swicy baked feta with gochujang honey glaze brings together Korean and Mediterranean flavors that dance on your taste buds with spicy-sweet perfection. Drizzle this creamy cheese with a killer glaze that makes your dinner table feel like a global flavor party.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 block feta
  • 1 tbsp gochujang
  • 1½ tbsp honey

Supporting Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • ½ tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 small garlic clove

Garnish and Serving:

  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: sliced scallions or chili threads
  • Warm pita, sourdough, or crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place a 200g block of feta in a small baking dish. Drizzle 1 tablespoon olive oil over the cheese and crack some black pepper on top.
  2. Create the glaze by mixing 1 tablespoon gochujang, 1½ tablespoons honey, 1 teaspoon rice vinegar, ½ teaspoon sesame oil, 1 teaspoon soy sauce, and 1 grated garlic clove in a small bowl until smooth.
  3. Pour the entire glaze mixture generously over your feta, making sure to coat the top and sides completely.
  4. Slide the dish into the preheated oven and bake for exactly 20-22 minutes. Your feta should develop golden edges and the glaze will start bubbling.
  5. If you desire extra caramelization, switch your oven to broil. Watch carefully and broil for 1-2 minutes to avoid burning the glaze.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds across the top. Add sliced scallions or chili threads if you prefer.
  7. Serve the hot feta right away with warm pita, sourdough, or crispy crackers for dipping.

Notes

  • Check the feta’s saltiness before seasoning, as some brands are saltier than others.
  • Test the gochujang’s heat level and adjust honey or vinegar to balance the spice for your taste.
  • For a lighter version, use a lower-fat feta and swap honey with a sugar-free alternative.
  • Let the feta sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before baking to ensure even heating and a creamy texture.
