Instructions

  3. Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Chop 1 medium onion into small, uniform pieces.
  4. Sauté onions for 4 minutes until they turn soft and slightly golden. Add 2 minced garlic cloves and cook 45 seconds.
  5. Introduce 1 lb ground beef to the skillet, breaking it into small crumbles with a wooden spoon. Cook 7 minutes until meat browns completely.
  6. Season the beef with 1 tsp dried oregano, 1 tsp dried basil, ½ tsp salt, and ¼ tsp black pepper. Stir thoroughly.
  7. Pour entire jar of marinara sauce into the skillet. Allow mixture to simmer for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Combine cooked pasta with meat sauce, ensuring every pasta piece gets evenly coated.
  9. Transfer mixture to prepared baking dish, spreading it into a smooth, even layer.
  10. Generously scatter 2 cups mozzarella cheese across the top, followed by ½ cup parmesan cheese.
  11. Slide dish into preheated oven and bake uncovered for 22 minutes until cheese melts and turns golden.
