Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb sliced mushrooms
- 3 large eggs
Supporting Ingredients:
- 6 ounces cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
Seasonings and Garnish:
- 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grab a 9×9 inch baking dish and generously grease the surface with cooking spray or butter.
- Place 1 lb ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Break meat into small crumbles and season with ½ tsp salt and ¼ tsp black pepper.
- Cook beef until no pink remains, approximately 6-7 minutes. Drain excess fat completely using a colander.
- Melt 2 tbsp unsalted butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Add 1 lb sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-6 minutes until golden brown.
- Stir 2 tsp minced garlic into mushrooms. Sprinkle 1 tsp seasoning salt and 2 tbsp chopped parsley. Sauté for an additional 45-60 seconds.
- Blend 6 oz softened cream cheese and 3 large eggs in a food processor until smooth and creamy, about 30-45 seconds.
- Mix cream cheese blend with cooked ground beef in the skillet. Ensure even distribution of ingredients.
- Transfer beef and cream cheese mixture to the prepared baking dish. Spread sautéed mushrooms evenly across the top.
- Bake for 20 minutes at 350°F until the center is set and edges turn light golden brown.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the surface. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Drain ground beef thoroughly to prevent excess grease from making the dish soggy and affecting the cream sauce texture.
- Let the cream cheese soften at room temperature before blending to ensure a smooth, lump-free sauce that mixes easily with the beef.
- Choose fresh mushrooms with firm caps for the best sautéed flavor and a nice golden color when cooking.
- For a low-carb version, swap the traditional baking dish for a cast-iron skillet to reduce carbohydrates and add a rustic presentation.
