Description

Bacon lovers rejoice with this easy cheesy bacon and egg bake that brings hearty breakfast comfort straight to your table. Crispy bacon, melted cheese, and fluffy eggs combine for a morning meal that’ll have everyone asking for seconds.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 8 Large Eggs
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 6 slices Bacon
  • 1 cup Frozen Hash Browns

Supporting Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Garnish:

  • Chopped Green Onions

Instructions

  1. Whisk 8 large eggs and 1 cup milk together in a bowl. Add 1 teaspoon garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until completely smooth and well-combined.
  2. Coat a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Distribute 1 cup frozen hash browns evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  3. Sprinkle 3 slices of crumbled bacon over the hash browns. Add ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese on top of the bacon.
  4. Carefully pour the egg mixture over the hash browns, bacon, and cheese. Ensure the liquid covers everything uniformly.
  5. Scatter the remaining ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese across the surface of the dish.
  6. Place the baking dish in a preheated oven at 375°F. Bake for 32-35 minutes until your eggs are completely set and the cheese turns golden brown.
  7. Remove the dish from the oven. Allow it to rest and cool for 4-5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired. Cut into square portions and serve warm directly from the baking dish.

Notes

  • Thaw hash browns completely before using to prevent excess moisture and ensure a crispy base that holds together well.
  • Crisp the bacon beforehand for maximum flavor and a satisfying crunch throughout the casserole.
  • Experiment with different cheese varieties like sharp cheddar, pepper jack, or Swiss to customize the flavor profile.
  • For a gluten-free version, confirm your bacon and cheese are certified gluten-free and check hash brown ingredients.
