Description

Pillsbury Crescent Roll Taco Bake delivers pure comfort straight from your kitchen, wrapping seasoned ground beef and melty cheese in flaky pastry. Dinner becomes an instant crowd-pleaser when you roll out this simple yet satisfying meal that brings Mexican-inspired flavors to your family table.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 2 cans crescent rolls
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Seasoning and Sauce:

  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup salsa
  • ½ cup sour cream

Toppings:

  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives
  • ¼ cup diced green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Cook 1 lb ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until completely browned, approximately 7-8 minutes.
  3. Drain any excess fat from the beef and return meat to the skillet.
  4. Mix 1 packet of taco seasoning and 1 cup salsa into the beef, stirring until thoroughly combined and heated.
  5. Carefully unroll one can of crescent rolls and press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, creating an even base layer.
  6. Spread the seasoned beef mixture uniformly across the crescent roll foundation.
  7. Scatter 1 ½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef layer.
  8. Unroll the second can of crescent rolls and stretch across the top, fully covering the cheese and beef.
  9. Slide the dish into the 375°F oven and bake for 15-18 minutes until the top turns golden and crisp.
  10. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle the remaining ½ cup cheese on top.
  11. Allow the casserole to rest for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
  12. Garnish with ½ cup diced tomatoes, ¼ cup sliced black olives, ¼ cup green onions, and ¼ cup chopped cilantro.
  13. Cut into squares and serve while warm and fresh.

Notes

  • Check the ground beef carefully to ensure it’s fully cooked without being dry.
  • Drain the meat well to prevent a soggy bottom crust on your taco bake.
  • For a lower-carb version, swap crescent rolls with cauliflower crust or thinly sliced zucchini.
  • Use lean ground turkey or plant-based crumbles as an alternative protein option for a healthier twist.
