Ingredients

Scale

Primary Ingredients:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Secondary Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest

Supporting Ingredients:

  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup white cooking stock or chicken broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. Boil 12 oz linguine in salted water for 8-9 minutes until al dente. Drain pasta and set aside in a colander.
  2. Thoroughly pat 1 lb shrimp dry using paper towels. Season each shrimp with salt and pepper.
  3. Melt 3 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté for 30 seconds until aromatic.
  5. Place seasoned shrimp into hot skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and curl slightly.
  6. Pour ¼ cup white broth and ¼ cup fresh lemon juice into skillet. Simmer for 1 minute to blend flavors.
  7. Stir ½ cup heavy cream, 1 tablespoon lemon zest, and ½ cup Parmesan into the skillet. Cook 2 minutes until sauce thickens.
  8. Add cooked pasta to skillet. Toss thoroughly to coat every strand with creamy sauce.
  9. Transfer entire mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading evenly.
  10. Sprinkle 1 cup mozzarella cheese across the top of the pasta.
  11. Mix ½ cup panko breadcrumbs, ¼ cup Parmesan, and 1 tablespoon melted butter in a small bowl.
  12. Spread breadcrumb mixture uniformly over cheese layer.
  13. Bake at 375°F for 15-20 minutes until top turns golden and cheese bubbles.
  14. Garnish with ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley before serving hot.

Notes

  • Use fresh, large shrimp for the best flavor and texture, ensuring they are completely dry before cooking to achieve a perfect sear.
  • Adjust the red pepper flakes to match your spice preference, from a light sprinkle to a generous shake for more heat.
  • Choose a crisp, dry white wine like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc that complements the shrimp’s delicate flavor.
  • Toast the panko breadcrumbs in a separate skillet for extra crunch and a deeper golden color before sprinkling on top of the pasta bake.
