Description

Chicken and stuffing casserole brings comfort straight from grandma’s kitchen to your dinner table. Hearty layers of tender chicken, savory stuffing, and creamy sauce create a satisfying meal that feels like a warm hug.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken tenderloins
  • 1 box Stove Top stuffing mix
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup

Supporting Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and coat an 11×7-inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Cut 2 lbs of chicken tenderloins into bite-sized pieces, ensuring each chunk is roughly 1-inch square.
  3. Spread the chicken pieces evenly across the prepared baking dish and season with ½ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon black pepper.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 can cream of chicken soup and 1 can cream of celery soup with ½ cup milk until smooth.
  5. Pour the creamy soup mixture directly over the chicken, tilting the dish to ensure complete coverage.
  6. Sprinkle the entire 6-ounce package of Stove Top stuffing mix evenly across the top of the chicken and soup layer.
  7. Slowly drizzle 1 cup of chicken broth over the dry stuffing mix, ensuring it’s moistened but not completely saturated.
  8. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes at 375°F.
  9. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes until the top turns golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven and let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the sauce to set.

Notes

  • Chicken tenderloins can easily swap with boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs for more flavor variety.
  • Salt and pepper the chicken generously to create deeper seasoning throughout the casserole.
  • For a gluten-free version, replace traditional stuffing mix with gluten-free stuffing or seasoned breadcrumbs.
  • Make ahead and refrigerate the assembled casserole for up to 24 hours before baking, which helps develop richer flavors.
