Description

Cheesy beef and doritos casserole is a crowd-pleasing comfort dish that brings pure satisfaction to your dinner table. Crushed chips, seasoned ground beef, and melted cheese create a quick, easy meal your family will devour in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Proteins:

  • 1 lb ground beef

Dairy:

  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 10 ½ ounces cans cream of mushroom soup

Pantry Ingredients:

  • 1 13-16 ounce bag plain Doritos
  • 1 10 ounce can Rotel Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 ½ cups chopped onions

Instructions

  1. Crank your oven to a toasty 375°F and grab a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Grab your skillet and sauté 1 pound ground beef with 1 ½ cups chopped onions over medium heat until the meat turns perfectly brown.
  3. Mix 2 cans (10 ½ ounces each) cream of mushroom soup with 1 ½ cups water and your chopped Rotel Tomatoes in a separate bowl.
  4. Crush half a 13-16 ounce bag of plain Doritos and create an even layer across the bottom of your baking dish.
  5. Spread your cooked beef and onion mixture directly over the crushed chips.
  6. Pour the creamy soup mixture across the entire beef layer, making sure everything gets nicely coated.
  7. Sprinkle 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Crush the remaining Doritos and distribute them across the cheese layer for a crispy topping.
  9. Slide the casserole into the preheated oven and bake for precisely 30 minutes until the cheese turns golden and bubbles form.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving your delicious creation hot.

Notes

  • Crush Doritos roughly for better texture and crunch in every bite.
  • Use lean ground beef to reduce excess grease in the casserole.
  • Drain beef completely after cooking to prevent a soggy bottom layer of Doritos.
  • For a spicier version, choose hot Rotel Tomatoes or add jalapeños to the beef mixture.
