Description

Spaghetti Bake brings hearty comfort straight to your dinner table with minimal effort and maximum flavor. Packed with cheesy goodness and simple ingredients, this crowd-pleasing dish guarantees smiles around the table.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Proteins and Pasta:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz spaghetti

Sauces and Vegetables:

  • 1 24 oz can Hunts spaghetti sauce
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 0.5 onion

Cheese and Seasonings:

  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F, preparing a spacious casserole dish for the upcoming meal.
  2. Dice ½ onion and sauté it with 1 lb ground beef in a large skillet, cooking until meat turns completely brown. Drain excess fat thoroughly.
  3. Boil 8 oz. spaghetti in salted water according to package directions. Drain pasta carefully and return to pot.
  4. Mix the cooked ground beef and onion into the spaghetti. Pour in 24 oz. Hunts spaghetti sauce and 15 oz. tomato sauce.
  5. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon oregano, 1 tablespoon basil, 1 teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon pepper into the pasta mixture. Stir until everything combines evenly.
  6. Transfer the saucy pasta blend into the prepared casserole dish. Distribute 2 cups mozzarella cheese across the top.
  7. Place the dish in the preheated 350°F oven. Bake for 30 minutes until the cheese melts completely and edges become golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • Drain the meat mixture completely to prevent excess grease from making the dish soggy.
  • For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey or lean ground beef and use part-skim mozzarella.
  • Enhance the flavor by adding fresh herbs like basil or oregano to the sauce before baking.
  • Prep this dish ahead of time by assembling and refrigerating, then bake when ready to serve – just add 10-15 minutes to the cooking time.
