Description

Lobster tails sizzle with golden perfection when swimming in a rich garlic herb butter sauce that makes dinner feel like a special coastal celebration. Cracking open these succulent shells reveals tender meat ready to melt in your mouth with pure ocean-inspired deliciousness.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Protein:

  • 2 lobster tails

Herbs and Seasoning:

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Sauce and Supporting Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 large potatoes
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter for mashed potatoes

Instructions

  1. Crank your oven to a sizzling 425F and grab a baking sheet ready for seafood magic.
  2. Carefully slice each lobster tail down the center with a sharp knife, splitting the shell lengthwise to expose the tender meat underneath.
  3. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, then add 2 minced garlic cloves, stirring until fragrant.
  4. Remove butter from heat and mix in 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and a dash of pepper.
  5. Use a kitchen brush to generously coat the exposed lobster meat with the garlic herb butter sauce, ensuring every inch gets covered.
  6. Arrange the buttered lobster tails on the baking sheet with the meat side facing up, giving each tail enough space to cook evenly.
  7. Slide the baking sheet into the preheated 425F oven and bake for exactly 12-15 minutes until the meat turns opaque and slightly firm.
  8. While the lobster bakes, peel and chop 2 large potatoes into uniform chunks for even cooking.
  9. Boil the potato chunks in salted water for 15-20 minutes until they can be easily pierced with a fork.
  10. Drain the potatoes completely and return them to the pot, adding ¼ cup milk and 2 tablespoons butter.
  11. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  12. Transfer the golden-brown lobster tails to serving plates and accompany with a generous scoop of buttery mashed potatoes.

Notes

  • Check the lobster tails for freshness before purchasing and store them properly in the coldest part of the refrigerator.
  • Use kitchen shears to easily cut the top of the shell, gently separating the meat from the shell while keeping it attached at the base.
  • When melting butter for the sauce, keep the heat low to prevent burning and maintain a smooth consistency.
  • Avoid overcooking the lobster tails, as they can quickly become tough and rubbery if left in the oven too long.
